Vera is a counsel at Gecić Law. She is a seasoned intellectual property and commercial law expert with extensive experience across Southeast Europe. Admitted in Serbia, she has advised multinational corporations in a broad range of sectors including pharmaceuticals, automotive, media, fashion, and consumer goods. Vera is particularly well-regarded for her work in trademark enforcement, anti-counterfeiting, domain name disputes, and complex cross-border litigation.
With over a decade of legal practice across prominent regional and international firms, Vera has led IP strategy and enforcement across the Western Balkans, managing contentious and non-contentious matters, including trademark oppositions, cancellation actions, and litigation before courts and administrative bodies. Her work includes advising on copyright, unfair competition, product labeling, and regulatory compliance. She has also acted as legal counsel in cross-jurisdictional matters involving film and media law, privacy and data protection, and licensing in the entertainment and gaming sectors.
Vera serves as an arbitrator for domain name disputes at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and has represented clients in numerous domain-related arbitrations. She has also been a key advisor in projects related to cyber law and internet freedoms, speaking at international forums such as RightsCon Brussels and the Internet Freedom Summit.
She regularly contributes to leading IP publications such as the World Trademark Review (WTR), Lexology, and the International Trademark Association (INTA) and has authored chapters for the World Bank’s Doing Business reports and the Foreign Investment Council’s White Book.
Fluent in English, with working knowledge of French and Spanish, Vera has been recognized as a WTR 1000 Silver Individual (2021–2023) and WIPR Leader (2022–2023), acknowledging her as one of the region’s foremost experts in IP law and enforcement.
