Veljko specializes in complex cases in the fields of EU, trade and competition law. He has been active in the field of competition and regulatory law since 2003, as a researcher, lawyer, professor, and consultant. Veljko was a Member of the Council of the Serbian Commission for Protection of Competition (2014-2019). He has been highly active as a consultant in EU and UN projects in Serbia, on a variety of matters ranging from freedom to provide services to construction and infrastructure. Experience in renewable energy and international business law. Experience in a senior public sector position, consulting (EU, UN) and university teaching. As a university professor, he taught business law, international business law, EU law, competition law and international civil aviation law.
Veljko obtained his Ph.D. in EU and US competition law from the European University Institute in Florence, while he obtained his LL.B in English Law from the University of Essex and his LL.M from the University of Bristol. He has written numerous publications on issues of competition and EU law, including a distinguished monograph on the private enforcement of EU competition law. Veljko is fluent in English, Serbian, Greek and Italian, with a passive knowledge of French.
