We are proud to announce that Gecić Law is the first member law firm and a pro bono partner of the Responsible Business Forum Serbia (Forum za odgovorno poslovanje), an organization founded in 2008 by some of the largest companies in Serbia dedicated to improving the local society through principles of sustainable development.
The Forum’s motto is “Better business for better society” while its goal is to empower companies to conduct their business in line with principles of sustainability, responsibility and ethics, and to combine the know-how and the resources to further best business practices which bring measurable and positive social impact.
Since its inception, more than a decade ago, the Forum and its members participated in a number of initiatives to promote corporate social responsibility, and are directly helping small and medium enterprises, as well as the wider community. The Responsible Business Forum Serbia has also been part of the government initiatives such as the Council on Philanthropy, and is closely tied with international organizations such as CSR Europe, EASP and Global Pro Bono Network.
Through the proven dedication to the highest principles of corporate social responsibility, our office ensured unanimous support from the members of the Forum: Atlantic Grupa, Bambi, Banca Intesa, B92, Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company HBC, CRH, Deloitte, Delta Holding, Direct Media, Elixir Group, Erste Bank, Eurobank, GSK, IKEA Group, Lidl Srbija, Manpower, NIN, Nordeus, Rakita Exploration, Represent Communications, Société Générale, Telekom Srbija, Telenor, TITAN Cement Group, UniCredit, Victoria Group, Vip mobile d.o.o., Vojvodjanska banka.
One example of our dedication to give back to our community is our Pro Bono practice, which allows legal representation of some of the most vulnerable members of our society as well to some of the most important non-profit organisations in Serbia.
Moreover, Gecić Law is the proud founder of the Taboroši scholarship, the private scholarship given out to students of Belgrade University’s Law School since the Second World War. The most recent example of our dedication to our community in the times of need is our Coronavirus GLaw Hub portal, which aims to inform the wider community about the business impact of new circumstances and legal measures in Serbia and the West Balkans region in order to cushion the negative social and economic consequences of the pandemic.
We are very much looking forward to working with the Forum in strengthening corporate social responsibility in Serbia, and values which have been a key part of our culture from the get-go.
