Gecić Law Shoots for the Stars with Most Nominations in All of Europe

Gecić Law continues to reach new heights year after year, receiving even greater recognition for its passion for innovation, consistent growth, and excellence in the legal profession at the highest level.  The coveted The Lawyer European Awards have nominated us for the fifth year in a row including us among Europe’s finest law firms. Only, this year, the firm stands neck-to-neck with global powerhouses the likes of Latham & Watkins, with the most nominations among this year’s contenders across all of Europe – an unprecedented feat any law firm in the region has ever achieved.

As last year’s first-ever Law firm of the year: South East Europe and the Balkans laureate in a dynamic regional market of 150 million people, and the 2020 Law firm of the year: Eastern Europe and the Balkans, Gecić Law has now not only confirmed that it is well-placed to reclaim this accolade in its region but has entered the finals in three other practice categories weighing the impressive achievements of competition, corporate and litigation teams, standing shoulder to shoulder with the crème de la crème of the entire continent.

After multiple nominations in the past several years, Gecić Law is honored to make the shortlist and stand among the top six firms in the European competition or antitrust team of the year category, which this year includes true global titans such as Latham & Watkins, Herbert Smith Freehills and others.  The nomination is significant for the firm in a field that is the very cornerstone of its development, where it built its reputation through numerous landmark cases and genuinely pioneering work.

We are especially proud to see the fruits of the firm’s tremendous expansion over the past several years in its first-time nominations in significant award categories. Entering the finals for European corporate team of the year and European litigation team of the year, areas where the Gecić Law team has gone from strength to strength in the last few years, is a tremendous success.  To stand together with outstanding firms such as Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, and Bird & Bird clearly demonstrates that the Gecić Law team has provided essential support to its clients with a stellar success rate in the most complex precedent-setting cases in these areas, some of which have spanned multiple continents.

Gecić Law has been recognized by The Lawyer Awards year after year for its creative drive, world-class standards of service, and the tremendous growth it has seen over the past years. This year’s nominations also distinguish Gecić Law as the only law firm in this part of Europe to be shortlisted in as many as four categories simultaneously.

Bogdan Gecić, Founding Partner at Gecić Law, commented on the news:” I am at a loss for words to describe this feeling. Entering the final selection in such a broad array of practice areas by the most distinguished judging panel in the legal world is indeed the fulfillment of our wildest dreams. This achievement exceeds our greatest ambitions from when we established the firm only seven years ago. These nominations alone give us an objective perspective coming from distinguished industry leaders among our colleagues of how far we’ve come, which often gets lost in our day-to-day routines. We are tremendously excited and humbled but even more motivated and strengthened by this news. All I can do is offer my eternal thanks to our fantastic team, the more than deserving owners of this honor, and our clients and partners who continuously entrust us with some of the most crucial and sensitive aspects of their businesses.”

Recognized as the standard of excellence in the European legal sector, The Lawyer European Awards have acknowledged the most outstanding achievements in the continent’s legal world for over a decade. The Lawyer European Awards each year showcase the impressive achievements of Europe’s finest within the legal industry. The Lawyer’s elite judging panel comprises top global experts, GCs, and business leaders from distinguished enterprises, the likes of Wells Fargo, Pfizer, Unilever, ArcelorMittal, Hitachi, Shell, International Aviation Group, Nestlé, Citi, Mitsubishi, to name but a few. The competition is particularly fierce this year, with a record-breaking number of submissions.

The awards ceremony traditionally gathers the most distinguished leaders in the European legal world. This year, the ceremony will be held in person on Tuesday, 29 November, in London’s Hilton Bankside Hotel.
